What is the process for canceling a membership?
You can cancel your membership whenever you want, just let us know.
How does the 7 day free trial work?
As soon as you subscribe, you will get a free 7 day trial, giving you full access to our live and on demand classes. There is no limit on the number of classes that you can do and there is no obligation to sign up when the trial ends.
After 7 days, payment will be taken automatically, if you have not cancelled, and will continue as a rolling monthly membership.
How do I join Healthhub VIP?
You will need to create an account, with your preferred email address and payment details. Once you have purchased your membership, you will have full access to Healthhub VIP and all our classes, live and on demand.
Once you have joined Healthhub VIP, you can contact us directly if you have any questions about which classes to do or, need help to achieve your goals.
What happens if I want to cancel my membership?
You can cancel your subscription at any time, with no cancellation fees.
If you cancel before the renewal date, your membership will continue until the end of the period. For example, if you signed up on 15th January and you cancel on 1st March, your membership will continue until 14th March.
How do I get a refund?
We do not currently offer refunds for membership fees.
If you are unhappy with our offerings or services, please let us know so we can make it right.
Membership Price Charges
If we are going to increase the membership charges, we will give you a minimum of 28 days notice. Notices will be sent to you via email and your susbscription will automatically be updated after the notice period.
Do I need to be fit to start exercising?
No, you do not need to be fit to start exercising, everyone needs to start somewhere! It is important to start small, with short sessions, and gradually build up your activity.
How often should I work out and for how long?
If you are a beginner, start with 15-20 minutes, 2-3 days a week and gradually increase the time and intensity of your activities. If you are used to exercising, aim for 3-5 days a week, depending on your fitness level.
What type of exercise is recommended?
A mixture of aerobic activity and strength training, spread over the week:
- aerobic activity, such as taking an exercise class, brisk walking, running, cycling and swimming
- strength training using weights or resistance bands
Should I see a doctor before starting a new program?
If you haven’t exercised for a while, or have any existing health or injury conditions, it may be a good idea to speak to your GP or Health Practitioner.
Why is a warm up important?
A warm up prepares your body for exercise by gradually increasing blood flow, heart rate and muscle temperature. It also improves flexibility and reduces the risk of injury. Warm up for 5-10 minutes. A more intense activity may need a longer warm up.
Why is a cool down important?
A cool down help your body gradually return to its resting state, gradually lowering your heart rate and blood pressure. It also helps reduce muscle soreness and the risk of injury. Cool down for 5-10 minutes or longer if needed.
Is stretching important?
Yes, stretching is important, to improve flexibility, range of motion, reduce muscle soreness and prevent injury. You can stretch after a workout, when muscles are warm but also before exercise after warming up. Other times include gentle stretching first thing in the morning to relieve stiffness or, in the evening to help relax and unwind.
What are the benefits of regular exercise?
The benefits of regular exercise include increased energy levels, better sleep quality, improved mood and confidence, reduced anxiety, preventing or managing many health conditions, weight management, stronger muscles and bones…….. to name but a few!
Why does my body ache after a workout, and what can I do about it?
Post workout soreness is common, and is a good thing, as it signals that your muscles are getting stronger. There are two types of muscle soreness:
- Acute – usually felt straight after exercising due to a build up of waste products, within your muscles, such as lactic acid. This type of muscle soreness usually resolves within a few hours.
- Delayed onset of muscle soreness (DOMS) – usually starts about 12 hours post workout. Your muscles develop tiny tears, after an intense workout, and DOMS is the soreness you feel when these tears are repairing.
Muscle soreness is reduced by staying hydrated, gentle exercise, stretching, massage, a warm bath with Epsom salts
What kind of diet should I follow, and what is considered to be good nutrition?
Aim for a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy and lean protein, limiting unhealthy fats, sugar and salt. Good nutrition means consistently eating a wide variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good and have energy.
What equipment do I need for online workouts with Healthhub VIP?
You’ll need a mat, or something to lie on, and some weights and resistance bands for strength training. We can advise you what to get.
How long does it take to see results from working out?
This depends on your goals, consistency and fitness level. You can see results in as little as 2-4 weeks, although more noticeable changes occur in 8-12 weeks
How long should I rest after a workout?Your Title Goes Here
Resting after a workout helps your muscles to recover and grow and reduce the risk of injury. After a relatively light workout, your muscles should recover within 24 hours, whereas a more intense workout may need 2-3 days.
What types of strength training are there?
Strength training includes bodyweight exercises (e.g. push ups, squats), free weights (e.g., dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells), and machines. It’s important to train all major muscle groups (legs, back, chest, shoulders, arms, core) with a variety of exercises.
What are the benefits of Pilates?
The benefits of Pilates include improved flexibility, posture, core strength and muscle tone. It also improves balance, and better mind body connection. It is a low impact workout, making it suitable for most fitness levels.
Are the classes all online?
We have a mixture of online and in person classes.
Online classes are accessed via our private Facebook/Meta group Healthhub VIP. These are accessible for members only and do not need to be booked.
In person classes are held in various Community Centres in Portsmouth and can be booked by messaging us directly.
Personal training sessions
Personal Training can be booked for 1-1 or small group sessions, in person or via zoom. Please contact us directly for prices structures.
Cancellation fees are charged if the session is cancelled with less than 3 hours notice.
Privacy Policy
In the course of your membership, we may collect certain information from you including, personal, financial and health details. We will only use these details to manage your membership, to contact you about updates, and send you our newsletter (if opted in), via Mailchimp.
You will always have the opportunity to opt out of these communications by unsubscribing (unsubscribe links will be available at the bottom of all nonoperational emails).

Your health is your own responsibility and you should always exercise in a safe environment and to your own abilities. If you have any concerns about an ongoing health or medical condition, that may affect your training, you should seek medical advice before you start exercising with us.
You should not do any exercises that, you have been told, are not suitable for you. If in doubt – ask!
